Quindicesimo Giorno: Istanbul - giorno VI : parte 15

Allora, questo è finalmente l'ultimo post concernente la visita al Museo Archeologico di Istanbul. Riguarderà alcuni reperti esposti nella sezione museale che ripercorre la storia di Istanbul attraverso i millenni, dalla Preistoria all'Era Bizantina. La visita a questa sezione è stata molto affrettata e da un punto di vista fotografico mi vedeva praticamente esausto. Per cui grandi hiatus nella "copertura" di questa lunga e affascinante storia, solo qualche foto qua e là attraverso i secoli, i millenni.
Cominciamo comunque dall'inizio, dai primi insediamenti umani nella zona. Di questi abbiamo già parlato brevemente in un post precedente (qui). Rimando comunque a "The Prehistory of the Istanbul Region: A Survey ", Sevket Donmez,  ANES 43 (2006) 239–264 per un approfondimento su questo topic.

The first bas relief depicts a mounted rider; the second, a funeral feast, the third relief whose upper portion is curved, a male standing in a frontal position, and the final relief, an adult male and a child; the legend on the first two reliefs indicate that the individuals are two people, named Rufus and Peison, of Calchedon (now Kadikoy) - The inscription from the fourth relief states that one of the decesead was fourteen, the other four years of age. The two sailing ships here may be related to the subjects in the final relief/Inv.  4252 T

Usciti dal Museo abbiamo mangiato in un ristorante vicino all'Hotel. poi abbiamo comprato qualche piccolo ricordo del viaggio, tre ciotole, un paio i orecchini...Ci siamo poi seduti in un caffè dell' Arasta Bazaar dove si esibiva un derviscio accompagnato da una piccola orchestra.
